The design process:

  1. Design Consultation: This will be done either through email or a 30-minute phone call to discuss the project and your design style. We will go over the details from your Q&A Worksheet (which will be sent out ahead of time) and go over any last-minute questions you may have before we get started.

  2. Mood Board: After the design consultation, I always ask that you create a board on Pinterest and pin 5 different samples of logos that you are absolutely in love with, photos that feel like the brand you want, and colors that you envision as part of your new brand. Don’t stop there if you don’t want to, pin away! Use Pinterest as a research tool for all the inspiration you think would be helpful to us. Once we look over all the different things you’ve pinned, we will put together a mood board based on both your Q&A from the consultation and the different items you pinned. This will help us with the overall process of designing your logo, stationery, style guide, etc.. Doing a mood board, helps us compare what your answers were in the consultation to what you are visually wanting. Sometimes what we think we want is not actually what we mean.

  3. Logo Concepts: To begin the design process, I’ll put together 6 different logo concepts for you to look at that I think fit what was discussed in the design consultation. They will be in black and white to start off with until we get the design nailed down. Out of the 6 concepts, you may choose 1 logo to develop and we will refine it until approved. You will have 5 included revisions for your logo following the initial concepts.

  4. Colors: Once a final logo design has been chosen and approved, we will move on to the colorful part! Based on the consultation and Q&A, I will put together 3 color palettes for you to choose from. If you would like to take part in choosing a color palette for your logo, you can visit design seeds or color hunt. I always recommend choosing 2 or 3 colors so that when it comes time to add color to your new logo, it won’t look too overwhelming.

  5. Secondary Logo: You may choose to have a secondary logo or icon based on the main logo. The main logo must be complete before choosing a secondary logo.

  6. Packaging: Finally, when all the designing has been done and you are in love with your new logo both in black + white and color, I will package up your logo for you. I know that you will need your logo in a variety of colors so that you can use it in all sorts of ways and platforms. This is why I will make sure that you are covered in all file types and colors for all 3 of your logos.

  7. Style Guide: This style guide will include the following sections in which you will have 3 revisions included:

    • About Us

    • Color Palette

    • Imagery Stock Samples | 5-10 images showing the photography and filter style

    • Logotypes | including main logo, secondary logo, and how not to use the logo

    • Mockups | 3 items included

    • Stationery | including letterhead, envelopes, and business cards

    • Social Media Profile + Cover Images

    • Typeface Combination Samples

    • Typography

What you will receive at the end:

  1. One main logo, one alternate logo + one branded icon

  2. One branded style guide on how to use your new brand

  3. One branded color palette with main colors + alternate colors

  4. One set of stationery including business cards, letterhead + envelopes

  5. One set of branded typography

  6. One set of social media profiles + cover images (one profile + cover image per social media account)

  7. One set of five branded imagery samples to use as you please

  8. One set of mockups for how your logo and brand can be used on merchandise
